SUPPORT (Back of House)
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team at NoRa to help with dishwashing and other back-of-house support tasks. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. This position will help, as needed, with a variety of other support activities including running food orders and helping kitchen team as needed..
Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning countertops, and disposing of waste.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including chopping vegetables and assembling ingredients for cooking.
- Run orders to pick up counter from kitchen
- Collect dirty dishes from dish pans in front of house
- Wipe down tables and chairs between customers
- Restock cups, plates, glasses and other items as necessary
- Support front-of-house as needed during busy times.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Experience
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, busy food service business is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with food service operations
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a team-oriented environment.
Requirements
- Must be able to work mornings and early afternoons both Saturday and Sunday every week.
- Must be willing to help the front-of-house as needed including taking orders and restocking items.
Compensation
In addition to base hourly rate of $13/hour, this position is eligible for a portion of tips collected for the hours they work.

BARISTA - CLOSER
Looking for an experienced barista who is available to work closing shift at least four days a week. Ideal candidate must be comfortable working solo for last couple of hours if needed.
Individual must be extremely detail oriented and able to complete all closing tasks accurately and efficiently.
Successful candidate must have at least one year of experience working with a manual or semi-automated espresso machine in a coffee shop or cafe similar to NoRa. As solo closer, the successful applicant must have the skills and temperament to handle normal shift lead responsibilities whenever working solo.
Requirements
- Barista experience in a commercial coffee shop or cafe using a manual or semi-automated espresso machine
- Great customer service skills
- Self-motivated worker with focus on attention to detail
- Ability to take and fulfill accurate orders using Square POS in high-volume situation
- High-performing team member able to accomplish a variety of side work in addition to traditional drink making responsibilities

Availability
- Must be available to work evening/closing shifts that can start between 1 and 3 pm and end between 7 and 10 pm
- Must be available to work 4 - 5 shifts a week, between 25 and 35 hours per week
- Must be available to work at least one weekend day each week

Compensation
- Compensation is dependent on type of shift working and experience of the barista. Hourly range is from $14 to $18/hour plus tips.
- High-qualified team members who demonstrate a strong work ethic and receive reccomendations for their performance from management may be asked to become a shift lead. Shift leads are compensated at a higher rate.

KITCHEN (mid-day)
NoRa is looking for a dedicated, hard-working and reliable member to handle mid-day kitchen shifts as we look to expand our options and hours for made-to-order food. The successful candidate is somebody who is comfortable working solo in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be able to work starting from 10 am to noon and ending between 3:30 and 5:30 pm at least four days a week. This position requires both weekend days availability for scheduling purposes. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast pace environment making a variety of sandwiches and house-made items.
Requirements
- Experience working in a commercial setting in the kitchen making food-to-order
- Self-motivated worker with focus on attention to detail
- Ability to fulfill high-volume made-to-order items in an efficient and accurate manner
- High-performing team member able to accomplish a variety of side work in addition to primary responsibilities
- Must be able to adopt and adhere to NoRa's core values around Integrity, Customer Focus, Team Focus, Inclusivity and Reliability
- Willingness to learn and adopt NoRa's processes
Availability
- Must be available to work both weekend days on a consistent basis
- Must be available to work 4 - 5 shifts a week, between 25 and 35 hours per week
- Must be available to work the mid-day shift that starts between 10 am and noon and ends betwee 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm
Compensation
- Initial compensation is $15/hour plus tips
- Adjustments will be made for high-qualified team members who demonstrate a strong work ethic and receive reccomendations for their performance from management.

SHIFT LEAD - (Experienced)
NoRa continues to expand and grow. We are looking for an experienced manager or shift leader who is able to work consistent weekend and morning shifts. Candidates must have demonstrated experience successfully leading teams in a food or hospitality-related environment either as a manager or shift lead. The successful candidate will be someone who is comfortable leading large teams in a fast-paced environment delivering high-quality food and drinks and exceptional customer service to thousands of people each week.
This position requires at least four morning shifts each week starting between 6 and 8 am and ending between 1 and 3 pm. Only candidates able to commit to working both weekend days will be considered for the role.
Individual must be extremely detail oriented, familiar with all health code and food-service policies and be a strong and positive influence on the team. The shift lead role is an active contributor during the shift and will be expected to fulfill a variety of responsibilities during their shift in addition to the shift lead responsibilities.
Successful candidate must have at least one year of experience - preferably more - working as a manager or lead of more than three people in a coffee shop, cafe or hospitality-related business. Individual must be comfortable in mentoring and training team members, developing a strong collaborative environment and demonstrating all of NoRa's principles including dependability, reliability, integrity and a customer-first attitude.
While not required, barista experience is highly desired.
