NoRa at Night Resources

NoRa will be posting on Indeed the following three resources to help us launch a initiative at NoRa focused on creating a warm, community space filled with events and activities for the evenings and nights.

While we are still in the planning stages, we have identified the need for at least the following resources for this initiative.

Experienced barista/shift lead for evenings/closing
- This individual must have demonstrable experience in a fast-paced coffee shop or similar environment with managemennt or leadership experience. This individual must be able to work independently, handle all aspects of running a coffee shop and be extremely detail oriented and able to handle all closing tasks efficiently and accurately.
- This opportunity requires full availability between noon and 10 pm any night of the week.
Kitchen staff for afternoon, evenings and events
- NoRa is planning on offering extended hours and new food options for the evening concept. As such, we are looking for a dedicated kitchen team able to handle made-to-order and house-made items in the afternoon and evening. This individual will also be responsible for supporting activities and catered food for customer events.
- This individual must be able to work independently and be available to work between noon and 10 pm throughout the week.
- Individuals looking for the opportunity to develop and integrate their own brand of offerings with NoRa are encouraged to apply as we look to expand our food options.
Event, activity and rental coordinator and business support
- This role is an evolving role as we look to create an evening community space focused on bringing activities and events on a regular basis. This role will also help in coordinating requests to rent out NoRa for personal parties and events.
- In addition to helping coordinate activities and events, this individual will need to participate in the execution and management of the activities and events. This role does support the business taking on any front-of-house activities needed when not actively coordinating activities.

SUPPORT (Back of House)

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team at NoRa to help with dishwashing and other back-of-house support tasks. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. This position will help, as needed, with a variety of other support activities including running food orders and helping kitchen team as needed..

Responsibilities

Efficiently wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning countertops, and disposing of waste.
Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including chopping vegetables and assembling ingredients for cooking.
Run orders to pick up counter from kitchen
Collect dirty dishes from dish pans in front of house
Wipe down tables and chairs between customers
Restock cups, plates, glasses and other items as necessary
Support front-of-house as needed during busy times.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Experience

Previous experience in a fast-paced, busy food service business is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with food service operations
Strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

Must be able to work all weekend mornings and early afternoons
Must be willing to help the front-of-house as needed including taking orders and restocking items.

Compensation

In addition to base hourly rate of $13/hour, this position is eligible for a portion of tips collected for the hours they work.
