Barista

NoRa is seeking a skilled and experienced barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be comfortable managing high-volume rushes, and work effectively as part of a cohesive team. This role requires a strong team player who is proactive, dependable, and dedicated to supporting the efficient running of NoRa. Candidates must be available to work both Saturday and Sunday mornings consistently.

Requirements

  • Barista experience in a commercial coffee shop or cafe using a manual or semi-automated espresso machine
  • Willingness to learn and adopt NoRa's processes

Availability

  • Must be available to work both weekend mornings on a consistent basis
  • Should be available to work 3 - 5 shifts a week, between 25 and 35 hours per week

Compensation

  • Initial compensation is $14/hour plus tips
  • Adjustments will be made for high-qualified team members who demonstrate a strong work ethic and receive reccomendations for their performance from management.

Shift Lead

NoRa Cafe is hiring an experienced manager for a shift lead position.  Applicants must have demonstrated experience leading high-functioning teams in a fast-paced busy food-related or similar hospitality environment.  Applicants must be able to work both weekend days and available to pick up morning or evening shifts as needed.   Training and initial shifts will be for afternoon and evening and will include morning shifts once proficiency is achieved. 

Requirements/skills

  • Management experience of at least five people in a food-service or related industry
  • Team Leadership - ability to coordinate the activities and promote a positive team-focused work environment with a large team in a fast-paced work environment
  • Problem solving - ability to quickly assess and independetly address any issues that may arise in the work environment - whether with personnel, operations or customers
  • Customer-focus - commitment to ensure that all customers enjoy an exceptional experience and that all team members contribute to a customer's overall positive experience

Availability

  • Must be able to work five days a week and consistently on both weekend days
  • Must be available to work 30 to 40 hours a week
  • Must be available to initially work afternoon and evening shifts 
  • Must be available for morning and afternoon shifts once proficiency has been demonstrated

  • Adjustments will be made once proficiency has been demonstrated as a shift lead and team member has received appropriate performance reviews and recommendations from management
