Experienced Barista 

Are you a skilled and experienced barista looking to work in a high-volume, high-stress but high satisfaction job.  NoRa is looking for one hard-working, friendly, highly-motivated person to join our team.  NoRa was voted Best Local Coffee Shop in Wake County in 2025 by the Indy's readers and Best Coffee Shop in Raleigh in 2026 by Wake Living Magazine readers.  We were busy before and we're getting busier which means we need another great person to join us. 

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable managing high-volume rushes, and works effectively as part of a cohesive team. This role requires a strong team player who is proactive, dependable, and dedicated to supporting the efficient running of NoRa.  Candidates must be available to work both Saturday and Sunday mornings consistently and be available 30+ hours a week.  We require candidates have previous experience in a commercial coffee shop and will have consistent availability for the foreseeable future.  Please no temporary or seasonal applicants.

Requirements

• Barista experience in a commercial coffee shop or cafe using a manual or semi-automated espresso machine
• Great customer service skills
• Self-motivated worker with focus on attention to detail
• Ability to take and fulfill accurate orders using Square POS in high-volume situation
• High-performing team member able to accomplish a variety of side work in addition to traditional drink making responsibilities
• Must be able to adopt and adhere to NoRa's core values around Integrity, Customer Focus, Team Focus, Inclusivity and Reliability
• Willingness to learn and adopt NoRa's processes

Availability

• Must be available to work both weekend mornings on a consistent basis
• Must be available to work 3 - 5 shifts a week, between 25 and 35 hours per week

Compensation

• Initial compensation is $14/hour plus tips
• Adjustments will be made for high-qualified team members who demonstrate a strong work ethic and receive reccomendations for their performance from management.

Kitchen Line

NoRa's ktichen is as busy as ever and looking to expand its hours and menu.  As such, we need another person to join our kitchen staff.  We are looking for an individual able to work solo or with one other person and hold down a busy breakfast or lunch shift.  Must be able to work from 6:30 am to 3:30 pm and consistently available for weekends.  The ideal candidate is somebody looking for four shifts a week and who has experience working in a fast pace environment preferable making a variety of sandwiches and house-made items.  

Requirements

• Experience working in a commercial setting in the kitchen making food-to-order
• Self-motivated worker with focus on attention to detail
• Ability to fulfill high-volume made-to-order items in an efficient and accurate manner
• High-performing team member able to accomplish a variety of side work in addition to primary responsibilities
• Must be able to adopt and adhere to NoRa's core values around Integrity, Customer Focus, Team Focus, Inclusivity and Reliability
• Willingness to learn and adopt NoRa's processes

Availability
