Library Rental
The Library Rental Policies and Information
We are excited by the broad interest in renting out The Library for a variety of activities, celebrations, and events, and NoRa is pleased to be able to provide this unique space to you. In the past, we allowed people and groups to reserve this space through casual arrangements. Due to some recent experiences, we must change how we rent the space and will be formalizing the rental process. We will now require a deposit and strictly enforce a cancellation policy. We hope these changes improve the reservation experience for all. If you have any questions, please send them to eventmanager@noracafenc.com.
1. Booking Procedures
If you are interested in reserving The Library, please fill out the reservation request form. You may find it at the following link (https://forms.gle/w5949Aj3bL8ETwdr7).
Your request will be reviewed by NoRa management, and you will be notified if we are able to accommodate your desired date and time block.
If we can accommodate your request, you will be sent an agreement with the terms and conditions. You will also be required to submit a deposit ($100 for most Library reservations). Deposit and signed agreement will be required before we confirm and finalize your reservation.
2. Reservation Deposit and Fees (RG-Provision 1)
A Reservation Deposit of $100.00 is required to secure any reservation date and time block. This deposit must be paid at the time of booking confirmation.
The $100.00 deposit will be applied as a credit toward the Host's final bill for food, beverages, and/or space rental fees. The deposit is forfeit if the Host violates the terms of this policy.
Food and Drink Credit Provision
A portion of the food and drinks purchased at or through NoRa may be applied for up to 50% of the total rental fee. Unless otherwise discussed and agreed to by NoRa management, 50% of the net cost of all food and drinks purchased by the Host or any guests indicating they are with the party will be credited to the rental fee. This does not include tax or tip from the bill. 75% of all pre-purchased food and drink from NoRa will also be credited to the total rental fee. Credits from food and drink will be capped at 50% of the total rental fee and will be credited on the final bill.
3. Time Blocks and Rental Fees
The Library can be reserved during NoRa's normal operating hours based on the following schedule and rental fees.
4. Cancellation Policy (MP-Provision 1)
All cancellations must be submitted in writing (via email) to eventmanager@noracafenc.com.
Full Deposit Credit/Refund: To receive a full credit for the $100.00 Reservation Deposit, the Host must provide written cancellation at least three (3) weeks (21 days) prior to the scheduled event date.
Late Cancellation Penalty (Less than 3 weeks notice): The Host will forfeit the entire $100.00 Reservation Deposit unless otherwise agreed to by NoRa management.
Rental Fee Penalty: In addition to forfeiting the deposit, if the reservation included a additional items or accommodations (such as pre-ordered food, additional staff or accommodations), the Host must pay an amount equal to half (50%) of those costs or the amount already incurred by NoRa (whichever is greater) upon cancellation.
5. Setup, Decorations, and Damage
Setup Time: If possible, NoRa will provide 30 minutes immediately in advance of the scheduled rental time for event setup. This early access is not guaranteed.
Host Responsibility (Decorations/Room Reset): The Host is solely responsible for ensuring that all decorations are removed and the room is returned to its original state prior to the scheduled end time.
Damage Assessment (RG-Provision 2): Any damage done to The Library space, furniture, or fixtures will be assessed by NoRa management and charged as an additional fee on the final bill.
6. Departure Policy and Penalties
The scheduled end time marks the time The Library should be fully vacated and clear of guests to allow for staff cleaning.
Late Departure Fee (normal business hours): If The Library is not completely vacated by the scheduled end time, the Host will be charged a fee of up to $50.00 for each portion of the hour exceeded.
Late Departure Fee (Past Closing Time): If the late departure extends past NoRa's scheduled closing time (normally 8:00 PM), an additional late fee of up to $50.00 for each portion of the hour exceeded will be charged to cover staff overtime.
7. Food and Beverage Requirements
Outside Food and Drink: No outside food and beverages may be brought into The Library space without prior written approval from NoRa management.
Alcohol Policy: All alcohol consumed during any event at NoRa must be purchased directly from NoRa. No outside alcohol is permitted.
8. Gratuities
Gratuities are not included in any of the listed rental fees, deposits, or service charges.
If the Host wishes to provide a gratuity to the staff who worked the event, you may add it on to the final invoice when it is sent to you.
9. Payment Terms
Final Payment Due: (RG-Provision 3) Payment of all outstanding fees is required to be collected by the end of the event unless a previous written agreement has been made with NoRa management. Any credits owed to the Host will be applied to the final bill.
Late Payment Fee: (RG-Provision 4) Failure to pay the final bill by the agreed-upon due date may incur a late fee. The late fee will be applied monthly and will be the greater of 10% of the outstanding balance or $15.00 per month.
10. General Use and Capacity
The maximum capacity for The Library under normal configuration is 36 guests. NoRa reserves the right to terminate the event if the behavior of the guests is disruptive to other patrons or staff.
